Let's Get Personal,
Hi there! My name is Dayna Palazzolo, and I am a contemporary fine artist that is passionate about oil painting, charcoal drawing, and metal sculpture. Ever since I can remember I have had a love of creating. I have a very clear memory of a classmate in the first grade teaching me to draw a very simple horse. After that I couldn't stop drawing them all over everything; my notes, homework, tests, books, the walls, you couldn't stop me. This drawing to the left is a more refined Pegasus, done after many days of practice I'm sure.
In the fourth grade I discovered Van Gogh's "Starry Night". That's when I realized I wanted to become a painter, and that people still choose art as their career path. I then made it my goal to learn how to paint in oils and began my own career as an artist.
After many years of studying both in school and in after school programs, I was able to begin classes at The Academy of Art University, in San Francisco, where I received my BFA in painting. It was there that I was able to take my talents and refine my skills to find my own style. I fell more in love with still life, wildlife, and landscape painting. I enjoy using my work to explore and play with light, color, brushstrokes, and composition. Creating pieces that represent my many different life experiances, hoping to connect to a similar memory from the lives of each one of its viewers. |
